Hi,
Wondering if anyone has any recommendations and/or tips and tricks for products to restore or clean the inside of mini fuel tanks? Seems to be por15 and KBS are well advertised ...
Open to any advice.
Cheers.

Messy job!.
I've used KBS products on my XJ6 tanks, which are car cancer candidates big time.
Their rust blaster is very good at removing the rust, but it took a few go's on the gas guzzler's twin tanks. Minis should be a lot easier.
With the sealant, you have to make sure all the excess is drained out and does not "pool" in the bottom of the tank otherwise porosity occurs.
The Jag has removable filters. The mini has non-removable ones which, if clogged with sealant, could cause dramas.

I have use this on a few vintage bike tanks. Quite a good product and the guy that created it was a lovely old collector. He had lots of British cars and bikes!

Kits say up to 25L tanks, I have never done a mini tank with it though. As AEG163job says, be careful with the intake strainer in the tank as it will block up!!

Used POR15 system on the last mini. The cleaning product was very effective!. The sealant was messy and I used far less than supplied but it can't be saved for later.
I didn't remove the filter from the LH tank and I thought the RH tank doesn't have one - a new reproduction tank.
As the sealant was drying I kept blowing air through the outlet spout to be sure it didn't clog. No problems with fuel supply afterwards.

I stuck a drill up the outlet of the LH tank, through the strainer. I then fitted a Falcon metal cased fuel filter before the pump.
Be careful the sealant doesn't block the breather pipe at top, I had to drill my RH one out to clear.
