Would anyone explain the reason for the various holes and slots. I know lubrication. The reason being that the small hole on the top of the rocker went nowhere so I decided to drill it through the bush as it seemed the hole would not be there if it wasn't needed. Also the adjuster screw looks different to the ones available new today.

have to assume that the hole in the adjuster side of the rocker went through the arm to the adjuster and then the hole through the adjuster fed oil down to the top of the pushrod... would have been complex (expensive) to manufacture that way so maybe they decided it wasn't needed ?

I'd have to look at the rockers from my S to see if they have the same hole through the adjuster but from memory it's not there...

Yes Simon the S rocker has it.

The bushes in these pics are aftermarket offset ones which may not have had them.
Sintered rockers don't have this oil feed so I don't think they are needed, there is enough oil fog up there for pushrod lubrication.
The offset bushes I made years ago for pressed steel rockers ran fine without the hole.
