As per title ausminiers. Currently removing the engine from my 850. Any tips on disconnecting the magic wand shift? All my manuals don't show anything besides remote and rod.

if I post the wrong answer, someone will correct me... the stick has a plate over it held in with 2 bolts, undo the bolts and the stick and plate come out. You should be able to get to them after you take the plate off the floor on the inside

SP #64 has a picture of the back of the box, but no useful description other than "remove the hex screw and spring"

Correct Simon. Once you remove the plate and rubber boot there are two bolts holding a plate that retains the gearlever.

Thanks guys, appreciate your help. Car is up on stands currently and has easy access to the bolts on the plate.
