If you know what you are doing use a narrow cutting wheel and grind the welds down. Straighten the drip rail and panel ,use a small cross pein hammer or Warrington hammer with a small brickies bolster as a dolly. I would also remove the 4 body weld cover strips and check for rust. Fit new ones with urethane and a weld tack top and bottom. DO not use the clips to hold them on as they will cause rust and bulge the strips where the clips are. The car should be undercoated in a 2pack epoxy primer. No etch

Just had a crack at removing the additional welds from the drip rail.
I used a Dremel with the grinding disc attachment.
Not the small one but one about 40mm in diameter. Tried the small discs they self destructed pretty quickly.
Th larger more robust disc worked a treat.

I think the term drip rail is a misnomer. More likely they were fitted to stiffen the gutter to allow roof racks to be fitted. Later UK cars don't have them.
Mine were rusted bad and corroding the turret so I left them off at the last paint job.

Has anyone got pictures showing the fixing welds (on the top ) at the start and finsh of the drip edge
