Sounds like one of the bonnet stripes on the later UK JC models?

Its a pommie car thing...most often seen on Rover Coopers...in the period, some locals might have brought back a sticker or three from a UK trip (especially when our Black Jack Brabham was driving for Cooper's)...

Unsigned, painted-on Cooper "bonnet stripes" were popular with boy racers and race, rally cars here...but that's about it...
[EDIT: Oops...my tiny brain read something much longer than 300mm...so nothing to do with bonnet stripes  ]

I'd be pretty sure.. its a no.. Don't really know if the early stickers that (some??) Deluxe came with and which said things like "... rides on fluid too..." was a factory job or something the dealers applied...

300 x50 is far too small for a bonnet stripe.... That size matches the rear window stickers that dealers used to apply. The old one on my car was Twiggy inspired and reads "You never forget your first Mini (heart heart heart)"

The Cooper signature thing really didn't come along until the late 80s .... from the days when Cooper started selling his kits into Japan..and later revived the MiniCooper.

Cheers, Ian

and without being modest, back in March 2002 I put the black signature vinyl on the R50 bonnet stripes, and showed it on a UK Mini2.com site, and next minute everyone seemed to be doing it!CHeers Brett
