Is is possible to modify the UK door handles to fit Australian wind up windowed doors?

Any comments would be appreciated.

You need to shorten the shaft.
Drill a new hole for the split pin.
Swap the external bezel.

They are getting very hard to find. If you have no luck with the various mini businesses or from wanted adds then I would recommend looking for a complete rusty door / car on Gumtree or Facebook then see if they will remove the handle and post it.
