The heater tap lasted 4 weeks before it fell apart are there any good ones , does the cs rocker cover have a metal tube and rubber hose that connect to the air cleaner ? probably for crankcase ventilation . I have just noticed my cover does not have a metal tube, If I fitted a tube would there be a baffle under the tube to prevent oil in tube ? Also will the car go better with the ventilation ? Cant find a replacement at MK or MS.

The heater tap leak sounds like most of the repro parts these days - pot luck. Return it and try again with another or try and find a NOS heater tap.

Cooper S rocker covers do not have a vent pipe. The system needs to be closed to allow the PCV to work correctly. The oil filler cap has a small filter and allows air into the rocker cover when needed.

This is the rocker cover used on a 1970 MK2 S.
