Is this the correct air cleaner ? I have been told it is a mk 1 not aa mk 2

Its a bit hard to see yours but i think its a MK1 Airbox. The MK1 has an oval lid. The MK2 has the corner cut off next to the washer bottle.

Here are close ups showing the difference.

The other type often used is the Clubman GT airbox. It has the corner cut out like the MK2 however the GT airbox is thinner and the lid has reinforcing rings around the wingnut holes.

I also was fooled earlier on with this. The thicker and cut off shape is correct for our cars. Btw, it’s a much more difficult version to acquire.
