 Post subject: Mini Mk2 Dip Stick

Does any one know the part number for the rubber looking black part that seals the dip stick when it goes into the tube seen on the left

To my knowledge, it is not a separable part.

The rubber bit is part 12A1262.

Looks like you can still buy it from one of the Spanish NOS parts suppliers here - https://translate.google.com/translate? ... rev=search

If you are replacing yours because it has become hard and hence doesn't seal as well you could try the rubber softening method many historical bike guys use with oil of wintergreen in the formula. Do some Googling on rubber restoration and wintergreen as there's lots of hits, including YouTube demonstrations. :wink:

It would appear the MGB also used 12A1262
