BXQ122 shows both the centrally located aerial and a ,I suppose an AM Radio aerial on the D/S. I reckon they may have mounted an AM radio aerial on the passenger side just to have background music
Cheers

Here is the other photo that shows the side antenna.

I don't think police Ss were fitted with AM radio antennas.
When we were in Bega with our S, the officer we spoke to said the patrolmen were not permitted to have a radio in their vehicle - even though it was needed to keep in communication with base station.
Maybe for BXQ it was a driver's addition considering it was a clip-on item.

Very pretty.

Out of interest does your gearbox have a stamped serial number on the front? They either had FAXe xxxx or they were left blank.

Macka,
What's the story with the stamping, I have 2 X 22G1128 boxes, one stamped FAXe 2441 and one which is blank.
Thanks,

Thanks,[/quote]FAXe is the code for the Mk2 Cooper S box fitted to the 9FXEY engines. However only half of the power plants i have seen carry the stamped gearbox serial number. The others are blank.

I am trying to collect info on the correlation between engine numbers with and without a gearbox serial number to better understand why some are blank.

Was it due to replacement gearboxes or did they just stop stamping them at a certain date?

Can you remember the engine number fitted to gearbox FAXe2441 and the engine number with no gearbox serial number?

Thanks for the info.
FAXe2441 is fitted to engine 9F/Xe/Y53725, possibly original box, Oct 69 build.
Blank is fitted to 9F/Xe/Y54732, no idea, Sept 70 build.

Just had a look at car with original engine no. 9F/Xe/Y53726, doesn't have this engine now. Gearbox is stamped FAXe2444. Original engine no. is one more than mine, box 3 more, chassis number is 10 less, both cars Oct 69 build.
