Can any one tell me what a 12G 1772 cast iron water pump is for? Obviously not a Cooper S, I already know that! |

Sometimes several different parts with their own unique part number can result from the same casting after subsequent machining or rework. |

If 12G1771 is the complete assy, 12G1772 could be the body and 12G1773 the impeller. Ian - What makes you think it won't fit a Cooper S? |

Macka, - I don't see any reason that it wouldn't fit, but I don't want to buy one & find out it's incorrect, especially after an expensive refurbishment! Thanks all for the replies! |

Thanks all for the replies! The parts manual I have is for UK cars and they quote the smaller water pump 12G120. Sorry I cant be of more help. Maybe someone else has a later parts book and can check the number. |

Thanks Macka, - That's where I am at the moment, thinking it should be the 12G120 according to my UK parts book, but the book predates my car by a long way! |
