Very interesting result bnicho. The geeks at the computer terminal are easily persuaded once u tell them what ****ing keys to press.
I had troubles registering the beast late last year as it had been off the road for a few years. They found all the details on the computer and it was ready to go.
They said they didnt keep records of old registration. What a load of crap.
Oh and i also got them to re-issue the old style SA plates without "South Australia - The Festival State" on them; while i was at it.

One guy had his Mini refused rego by VicRoads because a Dodge with the same chassis number was reported stolen ten years before!!

As if you could rebirth a Dodge into a Mini shell.

My Mini Van is registered as a 1970 Morris Coupe, cos the bimbo behind the counter decided that "all panel vans have doors on the sides". I asked her what she would register a HQ Panel Van as, and she just looked at me blankly. So I showed her the old rego label had "P/VAN" on it, but she wouldn't budge.

Similarly a mate's 1996 TD2000 replica MG roadster is registered as a 1996 TD Sedan. It has two seats, two doors, not boot and no roof!

What exhaust have u got on it? The donor car im getting mine from has extractors and DTM exhaust system

I already commented on my motor on page 1 of this thread (about 4th post from the bottom). :)

Overall I'm very happy with it! It's not a Cooper S eater, but enough grunt to have fun!

I'm running a set of LCB type extractors (Perry I think?) and a custom 1 3/4" system with single straight through muffler.

Precisely what I will be doing  What a joke the laws are when you have to have the stuff fitted, but you can go and do that
