So have been tackling this and some might find it interesting .. I havd 3 seals , all measured differently : 2 red = 54 ish mm id 1 black = 53mm id Black did not like the primary gear. Od was fine but inner would not fit on . Homemade seal press: 60m pipe joiner coupled with gear change cap and crank bolt . Works a treat if you have the right seal that’s wants to fit . Thought the red did until I saw this Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Try using pvc duct tape instead of masking tape. It will slide easier. |

I've never had any dramas with the red seals. |

I like your idea of the seal press. Are you able to show how it's put together/made? |

It is really easy with the right tools - 18G1098 is a sleave that enables you to slide the lip of the seal all the way along the primary gear and over the shoulder that you seem to be catching them on. It also has a handy taper that eases the seal out to the shoulder diameter before you slide it along. If you want to make your own version, just get a nice taper for the seal lip to get out to the shoulder diameter and slide straight onto the seal running surface, this is the key. Attachment: S20.JPG
