My mum recently purchased a first year BMW Mini Cooper S with the dealer optioned JCW pack which increases horsepower to 200 and a few other things. I was just wondering if anyone had a round about figure of how many of these 2002 Coopers were in fact dealer JCW's, as I know there are very few around and are no specific numbers. I only know of 3 2002's in all of Australia so far. If anyone knew anymore it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks heaps

Is there a BMW forum you can ask that question on? Might have more luck gaining an accurate answer?

mine is a 2002 JCW, To be honest, as a dealer accessory, the only people who would know would be how many kits MINI sold, but take out 17 years of crashes, I say they will be very rare, but then like mine, I have a 2002 car, but the owner waited till it was run in, and fitted the kit in 2005 which meant it has the 210bhp kit on a 2002 car!

MINI 2 group or Club Mini might be better

As a owner the dealer fitted JCW kits were quite expensive and to be honest not a valued as a factory fitted kit.

There would be more then 3 out there.. Brett's for example is not uncommon waiting to retro fit them when funds allowed or miles added to car

There was never a Factory built R53 as the name was still owned by Mike Cooper until 2008 when MINI bought the name off them,

Mines a 2009 and is, I think, the first of the fully factory built JCE’s and are badged as a John Cooper Work not a Cooper S JCW.
Cheers
Rod
