Hi All

Just bought my first Mini (66 Deluxe) and the engine bay is pristine. I'd like to keep it that way. I'd be very grateful for any cleaning / product tips and recommendations? Aside from avoiding muddy and wet roads :)

Thanks

Ed

Welcome to the mini world.
The VIN numbers and paperwork must have added up.
Sorry your first post got hijacked by a few of us who wanted to vent about our problems experienced with car numbers etc.

We spray a degreaser over most of the engine and bay sides (avoid distributor and leads) and hose off. An old style dishwashing mop fits into corners.
If you have heater hoses going through the box channel on passenger side, be careful of water dripping onto carpet inside the car.

Wot Bill said and I would bag the distributor...a rubber washing up glove can also be used with the end of the fingers cut off (ahhhhh, memories)

I for one do not apologise for any AUSMINI scrutiny of your car numbers...I think some here are doing a top job at pointing out anomalies with cars offered for sale...I would rather know that any car I bought was kosher or not...especially if it had been previously stolen etc where you might have to forfeit "ownership" after paying your hard earned for it :!:
