Hi all, I'm about to purchase some new wheels for the old girl but can't decide whether to go with 12 x 5 with ET14 or 12 x 5.5 wide with ET10. I've done a sh*t load of searches but can't get a clear answer to the following, - will they fit with no issues turning & scrubbing etc. - will they fit in standard plastic guards or will they poke out further? - Does anyone have a similar combo/setup that could provide some feedback or photos? I have drum brakes on the rear and discs on the front along with dry suspension. See a snip of a photo of the car below showing the type of guards. I would like to fill out the guards as much as possible but don't want to have issues otherwise it's a pointless exercise. Any help is very much appreciated. |

What size and offset do you have now? That would provide a starting place to compare to |

Hi, I believe whichever will be the lightest tyre and rim combination is best, as heavy wheels make minis drive poorly IMHO , so most likely the 5". !2" combos I have seen over the years often rub on the front edge, but clear the rest most times, unless very low . 12" wide tyres are heavy too ., but better than 13" cheers Lindsay |
