Hello All
Are these bump stops any better than the original type ?

Yes. The car can actually sit on them or just off. Think of it as a cross between wet and dry suspension. There is less pitch and roll. They take load off your hydro bags as well which is a bonus with 50 year old bags. The only downfall is the car is a bit stiffer but that is also a bonus if you want to drive it harder.

I don't like them on front. Car sits too high unless you want to trim them. But great on the rear.

On new rubber cones the rear in faster / gentler corners felt like it couldn't decide what it was going to do, hydro bump stops meant it felt more confident into those corners.
In my opinion a better solution than a rear anti roll bar which robs Peter to pay Paul, this makes Paul work harder...
It seems like it might be something to do with the mini's upwards sloping roll axis rather than downwards sloping as is conventional.
Curiously my 998 clubby didn't have the problem but I think the rear springs are older and stiffer. I run mine about 10 - 15mm from the bump stop.
Seemed only to feel like in faster / gentler corners, if you chucked it in it was fine, I think in this case it all happens (the roll) too quickly for me to feel anything.
