Another yawn worthy post by yours truly.. but TBH, after having my car off the road for the last 13yrs, the fact that I have managed to order my first set of parts excites me just a little..

Unfortunately these parts aren't Hi-Lo's and adjustable suspension arms or new bumpers and grille, but basic maintance stuff, like wheel cylinders and shoe linings etc.

I know you guys will understand my joy (especially when they arrive) I am fairly set on the direction I want to go with the car & am just looking forward to getting behind the wheel of it for the 1st time since I was 22... (unsure how my back will deal with that)[FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]

If you are going to fix the brakes...then do the basics to get it roadworthy, otherwise, you will be buying shoes and wheel cylinders again in another 13 years! :P

Ha, thanks mate, that is the plan... doing the absolute basics to get it road worthy and back on the road so that it doesn't Sit there until I'm 50... 60th anniversary seems a good time to get it back on the road..

Don’t waste another day getting it done. I did, and now regret wasting all those years. The mini will only bring joy and goodness to your life :)

Same happened with me, out of storage, fix brakes - oh well what the hell, 2 years later and a complete full restoration ha ha. My motivation - the mini is fun to drive.

Forgot to add, I am 66, have owned the car for nearly 30 years and feel like a kid again when driving it. My other toy a Mercedes SL320.
