Hey guys. Installing the water pump right now and I see there is a port for water pump grease.

Should I do this? The old one doesn't seem to have any in there?

Can I use something I would have here is do I need to get "water pump grease" from auto shop?

Looks like they have sealed bearings. Going without grease.

The hole is to let water out of the seal fails.

The workshop manual says it is for lubricating the bearings (perhaps in addition to allowing water out...)

That will be with respect to open cage bearings, but as you've noted you have sealed. Its now just outdated advice
