Hi all,

Has anyone ever used Ron Howe (based on Northern Beaches, Sydney) to work on their car? He’s been recommended to me for some work in my 66 mini, just wondered if anybody else had any experience using him?

Thank you

Ed

I have never used Ron for work, I speak to him regally on the phone when he orders parts, I find him very knowledgeable and he has my blue mini van that I restored.

Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

His name is actually Ron Howell.

He has a number of his own minis but retired as such a few years back.
Many years experience-nice guy too.

Yes - typo on my part re name. Ron has retired but still doing a spot of work! He did a fantastic job on my mini. Taught me several things too (I’m not the best mechanic but trying to learn). We’ve already talked about the next job on the car. Lovely guy and very knowledgeable.

I thought that you might have got the name wrong but was not sure.
Ron restored the mechanicals of my mini about 15 years ago (for a previous owner). It is a fantastic car and is a credit to his knowledge of what is appropriate for the type of restoration (for my early, original S) and to the standard of his work. I have met Ron a number of times at Rylstone, Kings and Eastern Creek and he is so helpful. Despite his 50 odd years of BMC experience and knowledge he is just as keen as this 5 year newby.
I will look him up when it needs a "refresh" in 50 years.

That's nice, speaking to him regally.
