Can any tell me how to set up the rod and end fittings on an early remote change It is the relationship of the knuckle where the gear lever ball fits and the angle of the fork ends where the remote bolts onto the gearbox. Are these 2 fitting in line or one spline offset. |

That is one spline or 10 deg. |

Thanks 848 . The picture you posted is out of the Australian Workshop Manual. The reason I asked is if you read the paragraph next to the drawing it states "When fitting the lever to the shaft ensure that the lever is positioned in the same vertical plane as the primary shaft" Quote unquote It appears that the written word and the drawing are in conflict Which is the reason for the question Anybody with further comments? |

Both mine are in line. Edit: Gear lever should be vertical in the 3-4 plane, if not it's easiest to move the RH knuckle on its spline, above the diff housing. |

I think mine are in line also, but sometimes 1st gear is not a positive engagement. I wonder if that is why. |
