That bracket is meant to carry the folded end of the pocket liner, as in your photo - but with the pocket liner on top of the bracket and holding it in position. Some early wind-up minis used a screw (or pop rivet?) to hold the pocket liner to the bracket through one of those holes. Later cars just used the bracket to support the pocket liner without a fastener. There is a similar bracket at the other end of the door pocket for the same purpose. |
