Richard - I don't consider Tony a "know it all" but he certainly knows a lot about the subject matter and much of what we discuss on this forum. I respect his opinion and believe his comments are in good faith.
Yes, maybe so, but delivered in a demeaning, smart arse manner.
Gas welding has been around for a long time, well before MIG welding ever existed. Ever heard of fusion welding? The seat frame modifications could easily be done with a gas torch and filler rod, with equel strengh to Mig welding.
It pays to know what you are actually talking about, through years in the motor/engineering industry before you start sprouting off facts from a book, something a number of "experts" on this forum just don't understand.
I recall a well known engine builder on this forum was schooled with engineering fact a number of years ago regarding the nitriding of crankshafts. Just because you sound like you know what you are talking about does not mean you actually do.
Clearly proven in that thread.
OK Richard, you obviously have no idea of my qualifications and motor vehicle industry experience otherwise you'd know what you're saying is actually not right.
This is a special offer for you. If you write to me at
mail@leylandaustralia.com.au and let me know your name and address, I'll send you a copy of my book Leyland Cars in Australia: A Chronicle, free of charge. Valued at $65. You can read it in this period of self isolation, and hopefully enjoy it, and then we can be know-it-all's together. regards Tony
