Hello All, had my engineer around yesterday morning and he gave me the thumbs up so full steam ahead. Unfortunately he wants me to put a strut brace from the mounting point where the heater hoses go in to the front left engine mount  but that ain't a big deal but yet another delay!

But he gave me a strange directive. I don't need a cat for my exhaust! Before you say it, I said the same thing isn't it mandatory but he said categorically I didn't need it and that the ACT RTA had changed its rules on cats for older cars. He even signed a letter on his company letterhead stating "No catalytic converter required". He said this would be good for a 10-15% power increase!

The only trouble is I now have a Catco HiFlo cat. But he said he may take it off my hands. Otherwise I'll flog it on EBAY!

Cheers

Yeah guys I would I mean I have a nice piece of paper in my hot little hand so I can say I was formally advised. Yeah mine is 7/71 model so maybe that's the reason?

As for progess, I have the mastercylinders in. This damn exhaust is taking ages. But hopefully I should have it in by the weekend, its the big holdup. As for driveshafts I think once I have finished the exhaust it may be time to drop her in to get the driveshafts made up. Also done the remote filter system and the gearchange is pretty much done too. So some progess... :x

Yeah AWD it makes life pretty easy. I guess it depends on how the change works on the subie trans. The Starlet runs two linkages, for forward backwards and side to side.

Thanks for the pic. Approx how long are the cables?

And does anyone out there have a spare Starlet or similar gear change?
Think I can make this work

Yeah Honk I switched web hosts so some of the pages haven't been fully updated. Also it is pity because the image would probably bring a smile to your face aswell. I'll put it back up tonight.
