G'Day,

Just wondering, as an alternative, if anyone has either seen or thought of using a Suzuki Alto engine (CN31S)?

cheers...

Yep, seen 'em, thought not very frequently, cause they are as rare as rocking horse poo. Would be an ideal conversion tho. Nice and small and possibly AWD too.

My mum used to have a Suzi Alto.
Always use to buzz along sounding like it was in the wrong gear
- and usually was with mum driving it

There is a reason the 3-cylinder 657 cc DOHC 4-valve turbo Alto works motors are rare.
They were never sold here, only in Japan from 1987 to 1990.

There is also the light alloy 658cc used in the Capaccino with the same valve & turbo setup.
This motor also came out in some Alto's from 1994 on. There are also 2V turbos.
Some of the 1998 on Suzuki Kei & R+ Wagons also have the good donk.

All very popular for Mighty Boy owners who want a 0-100 km/h time,
and a 1/4 mile time not in the twenties

Would be an easy fit in a mini, but $2450 just for the engine package $$$

:D :D yea i have one in my mighty boy. they go hard but don?t know about in a mini. there only 660cc and the mighty boy is like under 500kg.

you can get up to 100kw at the wheels out of it, though its going to cost you a bucket load because its all imported from Japan. its not cheap. Were talking about $5000 od after you pay 2500 for a half cut. So way not worth it.

i suggest if you are going to do a conversion keep to Australian imported cars that are not going to be a hassle for parts, and cost a fortune if something goes wrong.
