ok...flip fronts...i was thinking the current front but have it welded up so it would be 1 piece...

then fit a custom subframe and have a vtec...starlet gt...whatever in it...

what are my options and what is the feasibility of this? is my current front converted into a flip front the best option? would carbon fiber be better? i've heard glass isnt tough enough...or too heavy to do this...does anyone know about this stuff?

glass is fine (most are glass)

dunno about legality though.. although my dads cobra is 100% fibreglass.. so who knows

you just need angle braces going from the inner arch or bulkhead to the front subframe mount as the whole lot count balances off the bulkhead anyways

steel looks better IMO anyway

wouldn't you rather a steel one? Last longer.. & more weight over the front wheels

Pretty easy to do Drew. Though not entirely necessary. Just make the front aprin removable. The bonnett will be on the standard hinges and the arpin will mount/remove fairly easily. It will give you the access that you are looking for. If you are doing a GT conversion it will give you access to everything you need.

i just figured if i am gonna be cutting the body up to fit a nice import in, i may as well go the whole hog and rice the crap outta it and make it a flip-front :P

now which is the best way to have it flip? and where can i get subframes that'll handle both the flip-front and the engine i want (prolly starlet gt 4E-FTE)?
