Yeah Josh the wait is killing me, but mid next week I would say and at least I can drive it home this time! Yeah just worried about them slugging me. Still I rang today and they have the lights working off the Starlet indicator binnacle. As Brad say even the interior looks pristine. Are you making the subbie yourself??

Cool, are you still running with the CT9? So are you running the starlet dash or just the binnacle and switchgear?

I have neither the skill nor patience to make the subframe myself, though if i had the time and it wasn't my daily i would do more myself, but i'm trying to get it in and on the road as quickly as possible once i start.. Matt will be doing the subframe for me :)

Yeah running a completely standard setup turbo wise. Still she has a 2.5" dump pipe and no cat. I'll source a t25 or something later on and weld up my own exhaust manifold. As for the dash nah made my own wooden one with the Starlet guages installed. Here's pic...

That would look nicer if you spent a little more time on the detail, & perhaps varnished the ply

Mad Mini, where did you get your halfcut from? There doesn't seem to be too many importers doing half cuts in Melbourne. Did you get a good price?

Cheers

Mine came from Melbourne, cost me $1400 on eBay from a seller named miya17 - top bloke, a little hard to understand though, but that's pretty cheap, i don't know whether he would be able to do the same price again though.

Maybe send him an email and see if he has another one in stock or coming in soon...

AWD, the thought of sanding, tidying and varnishing it had occurred to me.

looks great mate . but before you put it in , PLEASE fit a new timing belt, just as a precaution. i have seen a few let go with horiffic results. $100 or so for all new belts is well worth it , comparing the price of a rebuild or new engine.
and doing a timing belt out of the car will no doubt be a lot easier than in the car .

Thanks Ben, Yea i was always going to do the timing chain/belt? and clutch. Apparently though on the 4EFTE if it does snap it lifts all the cam gear out of the way and you don't do damage..or something like that..
