Good good. Did Dean draw the short straw and have to get under it?

Good luck with the subbie!

I see you have listed the turbo bits on fleabay.... What turbo are you going to?

Considering Dean forgot the crane last two weekends, he got put under the car  ...that and i'm injured :)

Upgrading to a TD04..

Motor was on it's way to brads, who lives near MRC so i can get a new clutch put in and a few other bits while it get a quick look over..

oh ok sweet...why'd you choose the TD04 instead of a GT25?
i am reasonably sure my motor still runs (it ran when i bought it) so i am not gonna bother with testing it again till i get the subframe sorted...

Yea, i'm not worried about the motor not running...With the extra power the stock clutch can't handle so that needs to be upgraded. While it's there can't hurt to have a look before i whack it in :)

Going with the TD04 cause they are cheap and easy to find, they provide good power, my aim for this project is 200HP atw, which a TD04 can provide..If has a quick spool, is single bearing, and i'm looking at running over 20psi. ..and did i mention cheap? If i feel like it at a later stage there are plenty of turbo's in the VF range that will allow me to increase output.

yeah 200 atw is my goal too...should be pretty good, not gonna start it at 200 though...that'd be too much i reckon...will build it to output that much and then gradually step the boost up as i get used to/bored with it...what size wheels you gonna run?

Should have said above, i'm not looking at running over 20psi..The GT25 is a better turbo, more lag i think, but for the extra cost it doesn't justify the need.

I'm sticking with the 12's for the moment.

you reckon 12s'll give you enuff of a rubber patch to not leave ya standing at the start with yer wheels spinning? i was considering selling my 12x5s but just dunno if i should...i paid $900 for em with tires...i would prefer 13x7s...but they come with their own problems :P

Well i'm going to go for a halfsleeper look, and i already have the 12's, if i find i don't like them i will upgrade to 13x7's, but as you said they have their own problems like handling, heavy steering, more frontal area, and have been heard to cause hell for your ball joints..

I figure with the money i save on buying rims i can put it towards sorting out the suspension setup..

Mini Mad, is there a gauge cluster in the front cut, if so, what type, what shape is it in and is it for sale?

(My partners' d/d is a stock '97 Starlet and I want a tacho!)

Guys I'm running 12's and have practically balded the front tyres in a week and that's not everyday driving just taking from place to place to get jobs done. And that's with on 106 atw. I hate to think how many tires I would go through if I had 200bhp.
