Well I've decided its about time to put my mini's story up here:

I bought my 1977 leyland panel van on 31st of September 2003 from David Seery (a cartoonist bloke who happened to illustrate the Vic mini show programme - in 2002 I think.)

He had put on the 12" super lights and cooper s disks in the hope of installing a 1275, but when I got it, it still had the standard 998. The paint was as it is today.

I tidied up the interior a bit - new carpet, dash and door cards etc and drove it around for a while. When I got sick of hills and the 998, I put in a warm 1098 that I had from a previous mini. This was played with as funds allowed (I was a uni student)
The details are:
12g295 head
+40 thou bore
Camtech 619 cam
HIF44 SU on mini spares alloy manifold
LCB with 1.75" exhaust
modified pulsar dissy
thermo fan
oil cooler
rear sway bar

Believe me its been fun. and I love it, but a move to Kalgoorlie (from melbourne) has presented me with a company car, decent pay increase, and most importantly a big shed. This, the deteriorating engine condition and the quest for more power has tempted me to take the car off the road for a full tart up.

Plans include:
4EFTE conversion
Metro turbo brakes
adjustable suspension
new seats
a bit of a tidy up of body and paint
anything else that comes up along the way.

More pics to follow if I can get them off my camera. :D

Looking good.
My susjestions when you do the "tart up" is up grade the poverty pac flairs (no offence I have them on mine :) ) and go for some bling mirrors. The 4EFTE conversion should be a fun project. Good luck.

OK, A bit of an update:

I've been busy....

Got my subframe and a couple of 4eftes, 3 gearboxes and a few boxes of random 4efte wiring, brakets etc, a bit before christmas.
(Cheers Steve)

Got to work on the mini:

Dummied everything up as far as mounting the alternator, gearshift, cutting holes

Then proceded to rip it all out again to change bearings, timing belt etc. and paint the engine bay:

Also got some toys :D :

Mini Sport 4 pot alloy calipers and vented & grooved discs. Pure sex...I will get some better pics soon.

And what I have been up to this weekend (long weekend in WA):
Motor is back in and brakes and suspension is bolted up, although I am still waiting on my all adjustable suspension to be delivered...I just had to bolt the brakes up. hahaha...

'scuse the phone pic. I've been using my camera too much for work and the batt has gone flat.

Getting excited now...

Now just left to do is:
-Custom radiator
-PWR barrel intercooler and pipe work
-Brake and clutch lines
-Exhaust
-Finish fuel system
-Drive shafts
-Finish wiring
..... I'm going to stop there before I lose motovation. hahaha....

I think I've got most of the main parts I need to finish it at least!

Those brakes look very nice - you got them from minisport in Adelaide? I've had a look on their website and can't find them, although there are a few great looking sets on there.

Nah... Got them from mini sport in the UK:

Good exchange rate at the moment too!!

Ahh, so that's where that van went. I looked at that van for David before he bought it. He bought it from a guy in Geelong.

Are those callipers the gun metal grey or titanium finish? They look great. How much did they cost to ship if you don't mind?
