G'day Phil - hell no!! I have done SFA on it over the past 6 weeks!! Clients vehicles keep me busy and Im working six days atm!! When I am not working on the clients cars it seems I am working on making the shop more efficient - building a chassis table at the moment!! Oh, and its not just a Kombi - Extra-cab ute (stretched it by 600m), mid-mount 1UZ-FE V8, Audi transaxle, full blown custom interior, custom everything really.....!!!

Braad - yeah, stroke of luck!! Lucky I guess. The Effie is in pieces at the moment as I am going to put the chassis on the chassis table and jig it up so it can receive the Jag IFS and IRS! Once that's done I will offer up some pics for you!

Hi Dicko - yeah, me too - been busier than a mosquito at a nudist colony!!

Sadly, not much to report peeps!!

Cheers,
Tricky

Hi Gang,

It is with great sadness that I have come to the realisation that I wont finish and drive The Cat anytime soon! I have just too many other projects that have taken precedence over the Mini - the '56 F100 and the wife's 1941 Lincoln Continental to name just a few!!

So, unfortunately, it is up for sale - I need the cash but more importantly I need the space! As you know, I have documented this build to the nth degree and have purchased nothing but the best for it in the hope of making it one helluva brick!

So, if anyone is interested, please contact me via the forum or on my mobile - 0428 639 000. This is not a decision I have taken lightly, in fact I have put off making it for some time but I have got busier with work and now space in the workshop is at a premium.

I have put some details in the For Sale section.

Cheers and thanks,
Tricky

Thanks guys.

Yeah, a bit gutted to let it go but it cant just sit there forever and never have a life!

I hope whomever buys it finishes it and drives it to its potential!

Cheers,
Tricky

I'll crawl out of the woodwork and put my hand up... Looks like a Pro-motive R1 conversion project is never going to happen for me (to be honest it was probably only ever really a pipe dream ha ha). So I will just have to be somehow happy with El Gato instead, sigh

All joking aside, I can't believe it came up for sale, I remember thinking many a time as I read this thread 'Man, I would LOVE to have that car in my life' and lo, so it has turned out to be. Tricky has done such a ridiculously good job on this and all credit to him, I know it must've been a tough decision to let it go, but it is certainly going to a good home up here in the sunny North. :D

Mate, I didn't see this coming. I thought you'd hold onto this car forever! I hope you don't regret selling it although I'm sure you would've thought about it more than the average person before you made the decision.

At least the car has gone to someone on ausmini. It will be good to see how it turns out in the end. Congrats ten_sim.

Hey Nick,

It was an agonising decision, but I really needed the space as you would know having visited the shop a few times! In the end the thought process turned to thinking how much better it would be to have someone driving him and enjoying him rather than having him sit in the shop for the next ten years waiting to be finished - I think that would have just been selfish!

I cant wait to see the end product myself!

Cheers,
Tricky

Thought I'd post a few pics showing progress being made on El Gato over the past few weeks by Tricky (I'll leave it to him to give blow by blow details if he likes ;) :) )

Seriously. And only 15k! I'm stunned. Have been away for a while and this is the first post I see. At that price surely people were cueing up to buy it?

I know I would have had I been aware.
