No have not wound it up yet, we had an alternator problem (it was not working at all) so the battery just couldn't handle the time we needed to do a proper dyno. We did get 120hp@wheels on around 14psi.

I have since got home and got the alternator working great so will have to wait for the bank balance to catch up for another tune.

With the little time we had it I can see around 140-150@wheels on high boost.

Thanks very much mate and every one else with there VERY kind words.

I know its not to every ones taste but I think this will be a keeper. In just that 5 minutes of driving around my street it felt smooth, fast and just so easy to drive. No lag and only 993cc it really is a nice bloody engine daihatsu produced 26 odd years ago!

Josh when is your frame coming out for the fix?

I have had this conversion in the back of my mind as something well worthwhile ever since #1 Daughter owned a N/A Chardy a few years back ....with less weight over the liddle front wheels, it must also improve handling?? Yes??? 8)

Brad

Well done. Don't worry about it not being to everyone's taste. There is a strong following of people that enjoy modifiying their cars and you are clearly among the trail blazers in our community.

Have fun, stay safe.

hey guys,

not much to update. I have been speaking to engineer to get it ready for rego. He needs it to have an emission test, electronic brake test and a brake fail light fitted.

I took it over to the rta emmision test last week with no problem there.

Will be getting the brake test done soon with a wheel alignment at the same time.

The mini drives really nice. I have fitted a cat converter and even with no muffler there is no droning inside the cab, just a real pleasure to drive really.

Even on the low boost tune it is bloody fast. Gear ratios seem alot nicer then the 4efte. The GTR turbo is the perfect match for the little 1L, hardly any lag and pulls all the way to 8500rpm

Great work! You've done a top job on the body and those wheels are inspiring! Anyone who has the patience and technical know how to do an engine conversion is pretty much a genius as far as I'm concerned. Well done.

My favourite conversion of all time. I can't wait to see this thing in the metal.

(Scurries off to Google looking for a CB70 engine...)

Just had a read through this build from start to finish!
Such an awesome build and would fit in the front of my Clubby very nicely..
If i could find a Cb70/80 would anyone customise a subframe i supply for some $$$..
Really keen to do one of these conversions instead of my 1275..
Awesome work Brad a credit to you!

Cheers, Rhys.

Congratulations brad!

From what you're saying, it seems like the perfect conversion! Boost all the way to 8500rpm!
