If you fit 100mm PCD wheels on a 4" PCD hub, you will introduce a bending load to the studs that they are not designed to take. You will also not be able to correctly tighten the nuts, leading to damage to the wheel nut seat in the wheel.

End result in worst case can be broken studs and/or wheels flying off - neither of which you want.

Sure, well the secret in doing this is in the wheel stud size. You have to go to a bigger stud, i think i went the next thickness up, they are an old holden/chev stud. With them you can open up the original mini stud hole on the flange. Mine were done by sainty (drag racing team) here in sydney.

They redrilled the 4x100 pcd into the flanges and by using the larger stud it took out the entire original hole.They had to drill the rear drums as well. The front im running camira discs so the rotor is already 4x100. Cost me close to $200 for the work.

I think they look super though and would love to do it on my mini but am concerned about all the down sides the blokes have brought up.

Very good quality wheels (not ebay crapola) will be available undrilled. You can then have them drilled by a suitable machine shop (i.e. one that understands that 4" is not 101.6mm really) to suit the Mini hubs.

Brad said he had modified his hubs to 100mm.. so should be OK if done properly. No details on how he did it.. (personally I would have done the wheels to 4" PCD instead, but I'm a machinist...)

But if you have that many zeros you might be able to get away with it, unlike certain aircraft manufacturers early efforts trying to marry up imperial and metric parts.

Well my CB80 mini had its maiden voyage today Nothing to exciting, just checking all gears are there and brakes / clutch work properly. Was sent to the dyno on Thursday but had a couple of little issues (small oil leak from oil relocator) Bolt missing on exhuast housing on turbo and 1 injector is not working as it should (looks like its staying open). Once I fix this I will get it tuned. At the moment it starts and runs up to about 2000rpm before it misfires.
