If i could find a Cb70/80 would anyone customise a subframe i supply for some $$$..

Rhys, I'm surprised no one else has suggested anyone but I think Tricky (Archangel007 on here) did an excellent job of my subframe for a 4EFTE. The only problem would be he'd probably need the engine and the subframe in Brisbane as he wouldn't have a CB70/80 lying around to mock up with. I think he does excellent work.

My subframe:

Good luck with the conversion if you do go ahead with it. I've always admired Brad's conversion.

Well turns out my local mini mechanic just sold a mini subframe with a complete cb70 sitting in it!!
He didn't have the time to put it in a car so sold it!!
Yea being in Tassie I reckon shipping a subframe and engine to Tricky to be modified and sent back would almost cost more than the conversion itself unfortunately!
I've seen trickys work and its amazing I watch all his threads with great interest!
If I could find a Cb70 I'd consider doing the conversion!
Hey Brad got a spare?

Cheers, Rhys

Keep coming back from the exact opposite extreme of the world in the hope of a morsel of an update. A sliver. Extra pic not before published, more on the build. Frame. Manifolds. Anything. Delve deeper. Sick? Who cares.
In my shed is a CB70, a scratch-built Mini still evolving in the computer. Yours is real.
Am a regular on English, German, French and Italian Mini forums, but no-one I've seen has yet managed to top your build - yet. "World's Best Mini Build"? In my book: Yes. You know I´m not alone. For you, that means responsibilities, man, you have fans out there! We crave, nay, we thirst for more. Feed us, please! Pics, words, vids. Your kids, even -if they're in your Mini, obviously.
May this be nourishment (pressure) for further CBMini Bradaction and 14secmini updates!

Hi isjakar,

Sorry for the slight delay in getting back to you (only took 2.5 years Lol )

Just after you posted my mini went under a tarp while I built a house and moved the family. Fast forward a couple of years and I now have a garage and all my tools setup and the mini is going to be back on the road!

The mini has only changed slightly from 3 years ago, same engine, same paint and same interior. I have just put Metro Turbo brakes on it, fluid change and a new muffler. Another small change on the exterior was also just completed, the eagle eyes will notice a small glimpse in the photo below.

Took it for a spin today to blow the cobwebs out and she is still running like a dream! So much power from down low and just keeps pulling to 8500rpm.

Engineer needs to perform a brake test and she will be out terrorising those slow 4efte minis out there :D

This is me trying to build boost and take off in second gear, worked pretty well just need to be more gentle on the clutch. Sorry dodgy iPhone video. Permit was used to drive on the road, went to get a weight ticket for engineer, car weighs 670kg with a full tank.

For some reason they could never be balanced correctly and it gave a vibration.

I wanted to do something different anyway.

Looks like it goes awesome! How did you get the original speedo going with the different engine?

I think Morris was planning to put Daihatsu engines into minis one day as the Daihatsu speedo cable fits directly into the mini speedo.

The speed is not 100% accurate but it is close.
I have the gps speedo in at the moment and it is showing around 5% difference between them.
