Is it possible for you to give a step by step on how to do those 15" rims? |

zulu_warrior1976 wrote: Is it possible for you to give a step by step on how to do those 15" rims? I'm running 14x6 inch wheels, not 15's. Wheels are 4x100 stud pattern. To do this I had the front wheel flanges and rear flanges/drums redrilled to a larger hole for thicker wheel studs @ 4x100. The new hole for the thicker wheel stud wipes out the old smaller 4x101.6 stud holes. Tyres are 195/40/14 - rolling diameter is 511mm, as apposed to 505mm for 175/50/13. The extra rolling diameter isn't an issue, the same front guard cutting is needed, rear tubs are untouched. |

That actually sounds pretty simple. Were there any things to be aware of? Tips and tricks? |

Did you get done at a drag racing shop? Do toe 14x6 affect your turning circle? Do they rub? The same front guard cutting as for 13's? |

I got the drilling done at a local engineering/metal fabricator shop. Yes turning circle is not as good as it used to be but I've never needed to do a 3 point turn yet, still does a U turn on a 2 lane road no problem. They will rub on the inner wheel well if on full lock.... That has more to do with the offset of the wheels as I didn't want to fit large flares. Yes same front guard trimming as the 13's. |

They look awesome. I liked the first lot you had too. I wonder if with wider arches and a spacer if they wouldn't rub. But, being tight in like that looks awesome. Did you need to get an engineering report done? |

Just a little update on my 993cc mini. Took it to the Mighty Car Mods meet in Sydney on the weekend for some fun and the mini is offically a 14 second car. It now lives up to its original thread name It ran 4x 14.9 runs with the best being 14.90 at 93.9mph. It won 3 out of 5 races Such a fun little car, drove the 3 hour round trip no issue at all. Also I've now built a moke for summer. Only a 998 in this for now. Sneak preview for the next mini project getting underway (11 secmini ?) |

Correct, B series AWD running gear to suit my B16A Turbo engine i have lying around K series seem to be a great platform, but Aussie laws say i can only put a 1.6L turbo in a clubman unfortunately. |

Although it has ended up in the so-called 'national guidelines', they are just that - guidelines. So in SA at least, anything is possible with a proper engineers report. |
