That passivating does look good!
... Now i'm thinking about getting all my new stuff passivated instead of powdercoating. Not as good in the corrosion resistance but looks cool!!

I have now installed the new con-rod & crankshaft bearings, and managed to reassemble most of the engine together together today. (For anyone who wants details, I will have a tutorial on my blog of how to do the bottom end rebuild - see my first post of this thread for the URL). EVERY seal and gasket was replaced and (as seen in a previous post) every nut & bolt has been passivated and reused. Engine & bits back together (click to get bigger pic) : 
The standard (restrictive) manifold will be kept for until it's registered and then replaced with a tubular manifold. |

If the rest of the car meets the standard of that engine then its going to be fantastic. Looks top notch and makes me want to do passivating, or at least anodise everything. |

Got a question for ya - where does the banjo fitting on the oil filter bracket go to?? |

Its a real credit to your workmanship and perserverance, Alan. It makes me want to pull my engine out and give it a bit of clean up.

Thanks for the supportive comments guys  Once it was all back together yesterday, I swear I stood there for a while and just stared at its shiny beauty I looked back on some photos and see how old and worn everything looked before.
