One of them moments when you just wish you could hit control z on real life?

Matt,

Any video of the CNC at work??

A few years ago my flatmate (CNC machinist) was on night shift and I went to his work to check out a 5-axis CNC at work. I could have sat there for hours watching it work. They're fascinating to watch :)

Vid would be great Matt. I think every auto hobbyist should have access to their own CNC machine - you lucky bugger!!

Sounds very similar to Warick Agustins sports sedan he built in the 80's and is still running round. Toyota motor grafted into a mini gearbox, Chain driven, goes like the clappers. Running a standard mini K box (not s/c). Said there is a huge amount of machining to do though, and there were no subframe modifications needed, due to the retention of the mini box

Good luck, and should go better using a more powerful motor

well, not really Simon, it is a just Yamaha R1 top end & Barrel/block assy, i`m just extending the stroke via weired means :-)

but i must say that there are rather good looking options on the capacity of these things tho, a 1650cc-ish version is do-able ;-)

You know the funny thing is, even when you work with one every day, you so often still find yourself standing in front of it hypnotised

Matt I love your work :) always love reading all your latest ideas and inovations. Can I ask how come you wanted to use 7075? 7000 series cost a freaking bomb because they're aerospace grade.... Because you are machining this out of a billet and not casting it, you would possibly get away with something even as lower grade as 5083... but something like 6061 or 6067 would be more than fine..... and sooooo much cheaper... I don't know... you're the man.... The "MinMan" ... I'm just curious :)

1650 hey.... sounds hot!
