Mini wiper motor
Is it a rover one or clubman 2 speed?

I have been wiring a Rover one in to my clubman and I believe the rover is

Red Green Trace=Low speed feed in
Blue Green Trace=High Speed feed in
Black=Earth
Brown Green Trace=Park feed in
Green=Permanent

Here is a thread with info on it and also a ling from Doc showing more info in another thread.

http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic ... iper+motor

Hope that helps a bit.

Reviving this thread.

My wiper motor that came from a '96 EP91 Glanza had slightly different coloured wiring.

Anyone experiencing the same?

Colours:

white/black
white/green
blue
blue/black
blue/yellow

Here is my plug for future reference.

Alan is checking his against mine to work out which pin does what. But if someone feels like beating him to it.. then go ahead!!

I had a look at the wiper motor connector on my Starlet (EP82) and it will match up like the table below (also thanks to the Rover wire colours match by ade1964). The EP82 connector has FOUR pins and the Ground wire is attached between the motor body and one of the mount bolts (as does the Aussie 2 speed motor).

From what I've read, The difference between the late 2 speed UK motor and the 2 speed Aussie motor is that the UK motor has a 5 pin plug which has an Earth terminal in it, where the Aussie motor has a 4 pin plug and a separate wipermotor-to-body Earth wire.

So this should be right :

Aussie Mini........Rover Mini......EP82 STARLET.....Function
Dark Green.........Dark Green........Blue.....................Live/Permanent
Black (sep wire)..Black.................Black (sep wire).....Earth/Ground
Black-Green.......Brown-Green......Blue-Yellow............Park
Red-Green..........Red-Green.........Blue-Black.............Slow
Blue-Green.........Blue-Green.........Blue-Orange..........Fast

As for the EP91, if you can figure out which Function each wire is from the above list Rob, it will then be easy to wire the Starlet loom to the Mini wiper assembly.

I think i may have solved this one.

I put a meter on the pins of the wiper binnacle and soon noticed that they were partially labelled (EW W +B +S +1 +2) but i still checked them and it pretty much lines up with what i found. I also confirmed that blue was 12v+ by tracing it back to the fuse box and white/black being the ground throughout the entire wiring loom.

So here are the colours i think are 99% right.

White/Black - Ground (EW)
Blue - 12V+ (+B) [F10]
White/Green - Intermediate (+S)
Blue/Black - Low (+1)
Blue/Yellow - High (+2)
Green - Wiper washer (W) --switched (-)

If anyone wants to check the back of their starlet indicator/wiper binnacle and confirm their colours match up with the labelled letters (if present)

Aussie Mini........Rover Mini......EP82 STARLET......EP91 GLANZA..........Function
Dark Green.........Dark Green........Blue......................Blue.........................12V+/Permanent
Black..................Black.................Black....................White-Black...............Earth/Ground
Black-Green........Brown-Green......Blue-Yellow...........White-Green..............Park/Intermediate
Red-Green..........Red-Green.........Blue-Black.............Blue-Black.................Slow/Low
Blue-Green.........Blue-Green.........Blue-Orange..........Blue-Yellow...............Fast/High

Mods can you please sticky this? Perhaps even in a seperate toyota engine conversion area?

I just checked the back of the indicator/wiper assembly (that's clamps onto the steering column) on my EP82 and there's no sign of any letters or labeling.

Even so, well done to the group effort in solving this wiring issue. :D
