Who knows which model, year and size Honda engines are the best for conversions? And what cars to find them in....?

Cheers
Cal

Mainly Honda civics and integras I think. Either twin or single cam Vtec's, 1.6L and 1.8L engines are generally used.
When it comes down to an engine conversion you need to look at;
-BHP and Torque out puts,
-initial cost of the engine and gear box and everything else needed to run the engine,
-SIZE, will it actually fit in a round nose, clubby or extended nosed mini,
-weight of the new drive train,
-engineer costs and the cost of making a new subframe.
Their is a lot of other things but these are some of the main ones to consider. Unless you are in love with the idea of a Honda powered mini start looking at other makes ie Starlet 1.3L, Swift 1.3L, Civics as mentioned, charades etc etc.

the engine people refer to as a VTEC is a B16A engine - twin cam 1600 variable valve timing. Ring a Honda wreckers and ask for one
