But all the supports etc need to change so these will all need to be tested, x-rayed etc etc, and from what I know about custom motorcycles it aint gonna be cheap.
Check it all out first before you take the plunge, just shop around for some quotes and go from there cause it will be 9k plus for the engine and subby alone.

Saw your clips... Quite impressive!

You mentioned attaching the R1 to a mini subframe, was this then connected to the rear or was it at the front (hard to tell by the clip)?

Cheers

m y R1 engine is in the front, driving the front wheels

now has late model (07) injected R! engine :-)

I like your attitude mate but be careful.
What about the emissions tests for motor bike engines in cars? I heard that this was 4 - 6k? I could be wrong as I heard it on the grape vine.

I've got an engineering bill to confirm my brakes are up to my engine change for 1k. Mate get quotes first. No point in being cocky, this isn't the UK

To answer some questions:

As long as it has a reverse, engageable from the drivers seat without the driver having to leave the seat etc, plus, it , must have a mechanical or electrical lockout so you cannot engage reverse and forward gears at the same time. Thats it. Mechanical reverse is preferred, electrical is acceptable.

2nd, do not dwell on emissions for motorcycles as its all B/S. All motorcyle engines undergo whats called the World Motorcycle Test Cycle (WMTC) which measures, among other things, emmissions and this has to conform to two of the most stringent testing standards being Euro 6/7 and US-Californian Emissions 2008. These two standards are the most stringent in the world. Australia has just recently adopted Euro 3/4 and seeing Euro 6/7 exceeds Euro 3/4 these modern motorcycle engines automatically conform to Australian Standards.

3rd, Matt, I would opt for a dry sump as it would alleviate all your surge, volume and flow pressure issues. Yes??

Blunder - go for it mate, blaze a trail!!

Cheers,
Tricky
