Something that I've always wanted to do - a diesel conversion for a mini ute. I'll be keeping a close eye on this build.

Mini vans are lighter than the saloons, aren't they? And with a lot of the van bit gone too, it looks like your power to weight ratio should be pretty good!

That looks great. Always wanted a pickup but have always heard that taller folk don't fit in them. Those extra inches will come in handy I am sure.

not sure about weight sedan vs van, vans are longer so maybe more weight, either way be about the same once the cage goes in

I was also under the impression vans were lighter than a sedan.

I'm sure someone will come along with numbers soon enough.

Vans are lighter depending on which handbook you read. About 20 kgs. lighter.

Well there you go 20kg lighter, with the roof ,windows and rear doors gone its probably dropped 50 kg

Got a bit more done this week

Filled in the wedges in the rear quarters,a bit of welding ,a bit of cooling
and a bit of panel beating ,coming up pretty good so far

I started to fix the big wollop in the drivers side, got up to the door
pretty good but under the door is gunna be difficult
