Can I ask what the cost would be for a kit that gives me subframe, driveshafts, and any special custom brackets?
(i'd do bodywork, brakes, electricals and engine)

well work it out. i m doing 3 mini now 77 cluby 68 round noise turbo and 64 na round noise .from around $2500 from subfame, driveshafts and intake amd brake kit for around $1500 for 4 wheel disc brake kit 248mm front and 230mm rear from gti swift and kits are for 89 to 98 gti swift two mini's have be passed for engineering just need to get ready for rego thx jason gtitec@yahoo.com.au |

x 2 What is the overall cost of a drive in drive out job?? So dropping off a mini and getting a gti engine and subframe and brakes etc conversion done and having it engineered and on the road again registered to drive home? |

from around $6500 + running gti swift 89 to 98 [you can get one for about $500 to $1500 ] and $1200 for engineering for na clulby add $1000 for round noise need work and can trubo any mini for driver in gti in driver out motor fitted gti front brakes well need 13in wheel to fit all wired gti tank fitted gti seat fitted if wanted gti dash |

For the work it is not bad value, but for the money ~$9,000 you could spend less on an A-Series and have more than 100HP. Probably closer to 150HP with a cross flow head. |

Because i wanted more power - on 22psi boost i'd make 250HP at the crank. If you wanted to turbo the G13B and go for big power sure, but as an NA proposition i don't buy into it. Sure you get fuel economy, 5speeds, fuel injection - but at the end of the day these are things people care about in daily drivers - how many people daily drive minis these days. I have driven an N/A G13B in a mini and a an a-series is easily made to provide that kind of performance reliably. |

if I had a car space at work, i would be driving my Rover every day..... Although I agree and disagree with your comments. I used to have a 13B conversion which i picked up (whole car rebuild from ground up and engineered/registered) for $8k so i agree that on that basis, this seem expensive. That car was na, and had a great power to weight ratio, kept up with traffic well, did everything well actually and although I wasnt running 10 second quarter miles, it did have the right level of "modern" that i thought it woudl have been a perfect all rounder car. Sadly, the choice of wheels/brakes meant it didnt have a satisfactory turning circle (i had to do three point turns around roundabouts sometimes) and so i got rid of it pretty quick. For an all round modern Mini, IMHO its hard to go past an original 1275 manual "tweaked" Rover with air con... *sighs* if only I had gone manual when I got mine.................
