went to have a look at the moke today, the auto electricians have started to get stuck into it, wiring is well on its way to being finished and they have installed the rear tail lights (a little too far towards the centre of the car IMO) what do you think ? and im waiting on a few little parts for it, so i took some more snaps while it was in a better spot

It's hard to say about the rear lights... Might have looked funny over lapping that other bit. But surely would have looked better centred?
The would have sat them up against it first no doubt and it mustn't have looked right

time for an update,

wiring should be finished this week, expecting to pick the car up from the auto electricians on wedneday or thursday,

only major things left to finish would be the radiator, shifter and dash, other than that everything is ready to rock and roll :)

Is that a coffee ring stain on your shiny, shiny paintwork?

stopped in at the moke again,

sorted out a little wiring gremlin that was causing my fuel pump to come ... turned out to be faulty LED tail light bulbs
also worked out why the fuel pump wasn't pumping fuel, the auto elec, had connected it the wrong way around (onto the return pipe)
and once we sorted all that out i fired it up ! - and what a noise, sounded tough ! (headers only)
also

put a radiator i had lying around into the moke just as a test fit, and rough idea of where it should sit
Image

and from a different angle, don't stress its not the radiator that will be staying
Image

also the heres a pic of the bare-bone dash sitting in the moke, still has a long way to go yet

a brief update,

the moke is now back home at my place, just finished installing the front engine mount,

and did a little more on the dash today, just waiting for my rocker switches

the radiator still needs to be installed, however im waiting for it to arrive in the mail,

my seat belts arrived today, and i went and purchased a tap so i can clean out the paint from the captive nut.

tomorrow i will install the seatbelts, i also need to go and purchase some seat belt plates (http://galleryplus.ebayimg.com/ws/web/171041573324_1_0_1/1000x1000.jpg) as my inner side box has been repaired at some stage and they have removed the captive nut and hole.

if i get some time i may try and purchase a nibbler to do some more dash work :)

another update. and more pics..

got the front two seats installed today, and the catches for my seatbelts also. i need to make some plates up for the other half of the seatbelts as they were removed by the PO in rust repairs.

need to order in a rear seat bracket before i can put in the rear low back, and also make another plate for installing them, so they can be engineered.

got the bastard file out finished making the speedo cluster hole, not sure what i should do about edging/facia (any ideas ?) will finish cutting the holes in the dash when my rocker switches arrive.

only have 2 more days off work next week before i go to thailand for a holiday, so i doubt it will be on the road before i leave

heres a pic of the dash from the front,

Image

and a pic from behind, you can see where the stereo is going, and also the "glove box"/tray area

Image

a new pic of its backside :p

Image

and one of its new steering wheel (sorry for the glare)

Will you need a shroud over the instruments to deal with sun glare? You could make a fiberglass or alloy one that meets up with the edges of the cluster and has a wide enough body that you can screw or bolt in on from behind the dash.

I was thinking of maybe making something out of wood, purely to keep the costs down.. I've already spent way too much on it
