hey all, thought i should introduce my moke, i havnt received it yet but should be here within a week.

its a 1977 Leyland Moke, the idea is to install a Daihatsu Sirion Engine, then drive it for a bit, then strip it and paint it and reinstall everything

Should have similar power to a mild 1275 I believe, and of course it's a 5 speed

Ive driven the van with the sirion motor in it (was the brothers) Went fine but its only a 1L 3 cylinder motor.
If you have the subframe and motor from Lachy (sorry about the spelling) heaps was spent on fixing alot of oil leaks ect... So hopefuly you shouldnt have to worry about that, it was only he stupid alternator mount that kept cracking. Hopefuly we sorted that too in the end

some nitwit has mounted the radiator in sidways, and the front panel looks like its removable ? or been poorly installed? (does it normally have the reinforcing bars ?)

the whole car seems to be rust free though,

and the wiring looks a bit of a mess, with snipped wires everywhere

Looks like they've even made some sort of system for the same fan hub... Must have been a fair effort moving that radiator

And not the worst thing you could do. Greater surface area, forward facing and a fan that works based on water temp not engine speed certainly can't hurt.

It's actually hooked up to a switch not a thermo sensor ( although that shouldn't be too hard to do) its not stayin anyway, should have the sirloin engine in a week or two

I think from memory you might be able to fit something up front, with the sirion engine fitted. Ohh but the was in a clubby so maybe not a moke
