It is a nice little compact engine, doesn't it only have 60odd bhp?, have you considered forced induction further down the road?

We had that motor on a Dyno at one of the mini musters here in QLD a few years ago. I don't remember what the figures were but from 54hp at the wheels rings a bell....? That could be complete lies though. I'll see if my brother still has the dyno sheet for it

I wish my missus would let me work on cars in the living room. I think that little engine should go good in a moke, even with 60 odd hp.

me and a mate got stuck into it today,

had some trouble getting the top subframe bolts in, finally got them in to try on the bottom bolts, the floors had been repaired at some stage and had a captive welded in, all good. or not!

had to go and buy a tap and tap it out, bought the wrong tap, went and bought new bolts and a new tap, finally got it tapped out, then had some difficulty making it fit, got there in the end though,

installed my moke bonnet lacing from MADDOG, (top stuff!)

started on getting the engine in, got it sitting reasonably nice, with the rear and side mount, still need to work out how the front mount fits.. after 1 failed attemp and running out of light we called it a day,

heres some pics since we all love them :)

i hope so too,

i drilled some holes (always hate doing that) in my moke that were accidently welded up during the painting, and installed the dash earlier today,

tommorow i will

source a new harmonic ballancer (as mine was dammaged in transit)
buy some screw retainers so i can install the indicators
buy some screws for the headlights,

install the front and rear indicators,
install the headlights
order the windscreen
talk to the auto electrician,
talk to the brake guy,

should be a busy day :)

ok so my day wasnt so productive today..

bought some screws to put the dash in (half were the wrong ones, Doh!)
bought a new silicone elbow joint for the petrol tank
ordered a new harmonic balancer
dropped off the windscreen frame to the glazier so they could cut me one to size
i spoke to the auto electrician too who didnt fill me with confidence as to when he will be able to work on the loom in my Moke :/

but i did a bit of a mock up of the dash and even sat the steering column (the wheeland stalks will be changed) inside, looks good :P
