I'm about to purchase an all speed frame , HD driveshafts , HD cv joints , lower arm bars and front mount alt bracket for £1860 shipped to Sydney port.

far out just over $3k aud. not cheap hey

that's actually pretty good - no more expensive than getting one made when you cost out getting the driveshafts made as well

This is looking more and more appealing... Let us know how you get on with the kit mate. When is it due to be in port. Would be great to get some feedback on it.

Yeah considering what it actually is - a properly made bit of kit and maintains mini tracking and standard suspension etc I think its really not too bad.

For everyones info my kit will be finished sept. 2nd and Im getting it sent express via air , door to door in about 4 days ! Fast but expensive ! ($900 AU).
Will post up more info and pix when it lands

Just an update

I've received my allspeed subframe - very quick and generally painless

Taken in by customs for another $581.00 for duty , and GST. fiddle sticks.

Still, overall can't really complain. Great piece of kit and ll be updating with pictures etc in a build thread soon

That would be great I'll keep eye out on the build section too, I'm still tempted but as with every project I'm struggling to even get the time to look at the mini let alone work on it.
If you don't mind me asking what was the total cost in the end then including shipping and dutys and with the exchange rate you got.

Matt

Plus the $581 duty / GST etc

Total = a touch over $4k aussie landed. Abit of coin , but considering the quality Im not flustered. It would be impossible to jig up , engineer and make something here for even double that IMO.

Yeah if the kit is as good as it seems it's worth the cost, considering time taken to make it up yourself or pay someone to make it up. This kit is tried and tested, how does it go with getting it over the pits and engineered does it still need it, or does it just go over the pits and that's it.

mate to be honest its not that big nor heavy , the total weight of it with extra parts was 60kg.
if he could get away with even sending it himself and claiming as a gift (or heavens forbid - a false value ! ) that would likely reduce the duty to 0.

That's it. Saving on gst means extra bits I could buy and chuck in with the package. I imagine size would be the postage price rather than weight

If you get someone to pick up in the UK won't you be charged VAT at 20% ?

Correct and a good point. In this example it adds about £300 to the purchase price.

You only get charged duty for goods over the value of $1000 AUD

If you sent it in two lots or had it devalued to under you would be fine
