You mean, awesome drivetrain for a Moke!
I'd snap that up now if it was in WA.

For the price, I want it so much and it's got rego.

Whats stopping you getting a lift down there and driving it back??

Cheaper than what I paid for the one I had and in better condition, and with rego. That is only the third or fourth one I have ever seen for sale!!

Should have grabbed it myself for that price, but where to store it...???

But registered and in that condition, I would be reluctant to cut it up!!

Would it really be much of an advantage running a AWD setup like that compared to a fwd honda setup?
Surely it would be a fairly front biased awd system. But even if it was 50:50 split, it wouldnt be strong enough to do GTR style launching or anything . So you would just be relying on extra grip, which surely a good lsd in a fwd setup could come close to matching. Especially once you take into account all the etra weight the awd system would add.

Am I missing something?? :?
It just seems like a whole lot of work for minimal (if any) reward .

Yep, they were a good, ,simple, well engineered AWD system, and in a Mini would be excellent!!

It would still be well and truly light enough.
All these concerns about loosing weight only comes into play once you have got it moving.
I had a Datsun 1200 ute, rear wheel drive and much much bigger tyres. 240HP at the rear wheels. It was borderline drivable on road with 305/70/15 Mickey Thompson ET Streets. It would still spin wheels up to 4th gear if you drove it. On track it was a different story but still spun wheels. Dirt sprints and autocrosses it was useless but good fun
All wheel drive would need no power at all to even start to worry about loosing weight

Its not about outright power, its about how you get the power to the ground!!
