The alternator bracket now done. Just needs paint.

Looks good! Frame only needs paint now by thr looks of it. I see the brake lines are in- have you got the hoses to the calipers on too? Ive been having a bit of trouble finding the magic spot that lets them go full left / right / up / down without rubbing on anything. Seems to be roughly about 2 inches forward of the tower- have you found similar? |

Yep getting there. I still need to mount the radiator before painting the subframe. The hoses are annoying. I have mine on the front of the tower but they hit the driveshaft when the wheels are turned in. I have temporarily shaped a coat hanger which guides the hose away from the driveshaft. Not sure if it will be any good long term though.

That would eventually rub thru the hose would it not? I would be more inclined to bend the bracket so it pushes it away from the drive shaft. |

What about having solid copper brake line going passed the driveshaft? You could have it going down the inner side of the tower, across and underneath the driveshaft against the inside of your frame. Terminating where the coathanger is mounted. Then the rubber hose mounts to it there? (Maybe a shorter hose.) Also, if you find a solution, it will save me the headache when I come to do mine!!!

One of the best setups I found is to run a banjo fitting on the caliper and have the hose going straight up and back to the frame with a curve in it- this keeps the natural kink in the hose in a more controllable spot....problem with that is finding or making the right hose. I've tested it with suzuki and r53 mini hoses but they're metric not imperial. |

I will have to get it back on its wheels to see what is exactly needed as the hose will have to be shortened I think. long enough when the suspension is hanging but too long when compressed. I was considering the banjo fitting on the caliper end too but when I measured it this way the hose would bend too much due to where it was mounted. I may have to move the mounting position at the top of the hose. |

have you seen how the 90s honda civic and integra front brake lines mount? they come out of the caliper with a banjo and mount to the hub then mount to the coilover then up to the body.

That looks messy doesn't it. I think I just need to get the hose to bend forward rather than backward. If I get a banjo fitting put on the caliper end then i can aim it forward. something like this.
