Funnily enough the ratrod look was entirely accidental but I'm starting to like it.

Manky is a word that springs to mind...love it!

The car sounds like a joy to drive...3000 @ 100K, very civilised :D

I assume (dangerous) that it would handle better than an A Series all things being equal....

Spot is one hell of a sleeper I reckon... a couple of cars probably wondering how a rusty old mini did that....

All things being equal it should be a bit 50kg?? lighter than the A series, but not in my case...

Ride is better than my 998 clubby but it was on old rubber cones, then 2nd hand rears cones... There's been a few handling upgrades to Spot, 1.5 negative bottom arms and adjustable castor, as well as the rear toe and camber. KYB gasadjust dampers. Should have got adjustable bottom arms... camber is slightly unequal.
It does feel as though it has less torque steer than the red clubby, less trying to rip the wheel from your hands...

There's nothing that's not mini suspension wise and the weight came out at 630kg exactly the same as Spot when it was registered before so.... The subframe is probably much stiffer (particularly rear mounting points of the front subframe) though so that may impact things.

There was a fair bit of weight went into the front subframe that probably could have been avoided, but the engineer was being conservative. The MR2 seats and mountings will have added more weight over standard and I'm not sure if the brakes (S discs) have added more weight as I think the S weighs more than the deluxe standard.

I tried a couple of 0-100 runs (I don't pretend to be good at these things), it turns out taking off in first was better despite the extra gear change, the best I got was 8 sec, which I'm pretty stoked with... other micra conversions have been around the 10 seconds so a pretty good result.
Reportedly a lightened flywheel would reduce this further and there's a lot of meat on the standard flywheel that could come of before you start go all exotic with it...

I figure this gives the best unbiased information I can give about the conversion.
