My wife had a KH series (SOHC) Laser, I measured that and reckoned it could be shoehorned into a Clubby... so, maybe. Would be tight though with that intake manifold.. but it could be hacked shorter probably.

Same issue with Vtec is the intake manifold. Needs to be re designed to fit which normally means loss of efficiency and so maybe turbocharging.... does it ever stop??

Those 2 in pics are different years, but block is pretty much the same.
Same year = same motor, Mazda 323 = Ford Laser, which (cars) were all made by Mazda from about 1993 on.
