NUMBERPLATE FLAP REMOVAL - Submitted by 'big willy'

1. Ok so we start by unscrewing the plate from the flap.
2. Underneath the flap there should be 6 countersunk bolts.
3. Locate and loosen these.
4. Trace and unplug the wires leading to the numberplate light.
5. Remove bolts that hold flap hinges and remove flap.
6. The area underneath the hinge on the body may have a small amount of surface rust- in this case (like mine), dust it off and mask and spray with black or whatever you have on your shelves.
7. Once dry, bring numberplate up to the body recess and mark out for holes to be drilled. Measure twice, drill once! Be careful at this stage- dont slip!
8. Drill the holes and put some nail polish around the bare metal edges so it doesnt rust out later on.
9. Attach numberplate to body- I used 316 grade stainless steel bolts and acorn nut thingos- see the pics.
10. Mark out holes for number plate light and drill these holes.
11. Re-route wiring through another hole in the boot lid for the numberplate hole or use an existing one.
12. Check that the light still works and step back and admire your work.
